The word “Kopi,” derived from Malay, represents coffee and evokes the vibrant local kopitiam culture that resonates with Singaporeans. “Haus,” which means house or family, reflects the warm, inviting spirit of our F&B arm, where community and connection come together. Interestingly, in Malay, “Haus” also means thirst, which perfectly embodies our goal of offering freshly brewed coffee that satisfies your cravings.

In Mandarin, Kopi Haus is known as “咖啡世家” (pronounced “Kāfēi Shìjiā”), a name rich in cultural significance. The word “咖啡” (coffee) represents the essence of Killiney’s Hainanese coffee, a beloved local brew that has withstood generations. The character “世” means generation, symbolizing the family legacy of Killiney, passed down through the years, continuing to deliver the same high-quality coffee taste that has stood the test of time. “家”, meaning home, reflects our vision of creating a warm and welcoming environment where people can enjoy hearty meals, relax, and connect.
